This little lustre jug was made in Hailsham in Sussex sometime in the first part of C20th - it is known as Dicker Ware and the company was best known for a deep black lustre which was produced in quantity.
My suspicion is that this was a more experimental range - not least because the glaze has chipped off the terracotta base in places.
However it makes it a really pretty jug for soft coloured flowers - I love it with sweet peas - as it has a kind of 'patina' that is rare in pottery.
Use with a coaster as the jug is terracotta and may 'sweat' at the base.
